Counterstrike Heapsize

White Rose, White leaves

68 years ago today, 22 February 1943 were executed in the resistance of the White Rose. Why are the group called for the siblings Scholl "White Rose"?
The plausible explanation offers a hitherto little-noticed statement Sophie Scholl to the Gestapo. As her brother, 1942, before she was initiated into the activities, asked the meaning of the name and got this reply, "that led to his memory during the French Revolution, the exiled nobles, a white rose as a symbol on their flags had. "The statement provokes astonishment at first glance: Why should Schmorell Scholl and just rely on the nobility, anti-democratic as it were on the counter-revolutionaries? (Sönke Zankel, with leaflets against Hitler against S. 286)
Perhaps the appeal
calls out to the "counter-revolution" Mr. Zankel surprise. It will probably cause even with the most ardent supporters of the "Republican attack" by surprise today. But Scholl and Schmorell probably knew not only intuitively on the spiritual links between the Jacobin Terror and the Nazi revolution. Hans Scholl was, after all, as almost all members of the resistance group, was in his youth an enthusiastic supporter of the Hitler Youth. And who saw themselves as a revolutionary fighter against the "reaction". The ruthlessness and the truly revolutionary fervor with which the National Socialist Revolutionaries the noble members of the resistance movement of the 20th July pursued, may well be interpreted as a reflection of the Jacobin Terror, the ravages of Marsellaise against the "impure sang" as the lightning racial revolution of the Nazis.

Mosebach quotes from a speech Himmler and a fictitious address Saint-Just, the speech of a mass murderer and the speech of a Jacobin butcher have attracted the German Folliton remarkable flashes. But the most effective and bravest part of the German resistance against Hitler himself counted among the "whites." White Rose - White leaves. While Nazis and Communists marched under red flag until everything fell to pieces.
